Christmas Carols
Sri Petaling Methodist Church Youth Fellowship at Desa Petaling
1. On 22 December 2009 about 30 youths from Sri Petaling Methodist Church youth fellowship visited us at Desa Petaling, Kuala Lumpur.
2.They sang some of the popular Christmas songs and carols include, "Mary's Litter Boy Child", "Joy to the World", "The first Noel, the Angel Did Say", and "Silent Night".
3. There are full of happiness and laughter, and it was all about the joy of Christmas.

Chong Hwa Independent High School 90th Anniversary
Chong Hwa Independent High School, Kuala Lumpur
1. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak was present to mark the 90th Anniversary (1919-2009) celebration of the Chong Hwa Independent High School on the 14 December 2009
2. Chong Hwa High School was established in 1919 and operated in 3 shop lots with about 80 students then. Today, the school are well established and perhaps one of the biggest Independent High School with number of students well over 4000.
3. There are currently about 60 Independent Chinese High Schools in the country, with majority of these schools located in the urban areas.
4. The amended Education Act 1996 has guarantee the existence of independent schools. However, the Government has yet to recognize the independent schools' Unified Examination Certificate (UEC). Currently, the students study in independent school are required to take examinations, one from PMR and /or SPM (set by the Ministry of Education) and UEC (set by the Dongn Zong).
5. Currently, all independent school are self funding, with contribution from private organizations and student school fees ( ranging between RM200-RM300 per month per student).

Historical Development of Kuala Lumpur
- In 1850s Kuala Lumpur saw the influx of Chinese labour in the mining sector under the influence of the Selangor Royal family, Raja Abdullah.
- In 1870s, the Chinese Kapitan of Kuala Lumpur, Yap Ah Loy, established the then mining town now call "Kuala Lumpur"
- In 1880s, the British governor moved the state capital of Selangor to Kuala Lumpur.
- In 1972, Kuala Lumpur achieved its city status.
- In 1974, Kuala Lumpur was made a federal territory.
- In 2004, the Ministry of Federal Territory was established to provides social, urban sustainability, sports, economic development, strategic plans & land administration of Federal Territories.
